Bohra community set benchmark for honesty and truth: PM Modi – Times of India

You have set an example with your behavior. Country’s backbone is people like you,” Modi said addressing a gathering of Bohra community members at Saifee Nagar Mosque here. He was taking part in the Ashara Mubaraka event of the Dawoodi Bohra community and had flown from Delhi for a brief visit to meet community leader, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. The prime minister said the government has attempted to encourage honest trade through various measures like Goods and Services Tax (GST). “The Bohra community is the one leading this and is taking benefit of this. Under Make in India- we are producing everything- mobiles, clothes everything. India is growing at a fast pace- will soon be the most developed,” he said. He laid down the contribution of Bohra community leaders in ushering government schemes of ending malnourishment and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and said, “The work done by you for the children’s health, education and nutrition is remarkable. Your efforts will definitely help in making the country’s future strong. Dawoodi Bohra community is always aware about this. By community kitchens, you are ensuring that no one sleeps empty stomach. You have hospitals in every part. The prime minister, who was accompanied by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, gave details of welfare schemes of government in providing affordable housing and healthcare. “I am proud of my past; I trust my present and am self-confident about future,” Modi said. He said the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) gives India an identity different from all other countries. “The concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam gives a distinct identity to India from the rest of the world and the Bohra community is an example of it,” he said. The prime minster spent nearly an hour in the mosque, where various religious events were being held by the Bohra community on account of Ashara Mubaraka.
